Clinker, Blending, Flyash and Finish Cement Silos - Union Bridge, Md.

T. E. Ibberson Company constructed four slipform structures at the Lehigh Portland Cement Plant in Union Bridge, Maryland. The project consisted of foundations, slipform walls, inverted cone bottoms and roofs.
The clinker silo is post-tensioned with a heavy precast concrete dome roof. The silo is 150 feet in diameter and 169 feet high to the top of the dome. Inside of the clinker silo is a 33-foot-diameter by 154-foot-high slipform off-spec silo. This silo has a steel frame with a concrete roof system and was slipped simultaneously with the clinker silo.
The blend silo is 68-feet in diameter and 220-feet high with an elevated bin bottom and precast inverted cone.
The flyash silo is 54-feet in diameter and 147-feet high with a precast inverted cone casted into an elevated concrete tension ring.
The finish cement silo is 48-feet in diameter and 152-feet high with a precast inverted cone casted into an elevated concrete tension ring. The silo has 4,000 cubic meters of capacity. The bottom of the silo has two truck driveways with two concrete truck scales (Weigh Bridge System).
