Potash Mine Head Frame - Esterhazy, Saskatchewan
T. E. Ibberson Company (TEI) and Kiewit Canada were contracted to design the slip form and pour the head frame at the new Mosaic K-3 mine site. Over all height of the Koepe hoist floor was 312 feet.
The completed head frame is the tallest man made structure between Calgary and Winnipeg. It is also one of the tallest mine shaft head frames in the world.
Structure design was completed by Hatch Engineering.
The Koepe hoist level presented a unique challenge due to the elevation having a 24 X 73 foot concrete wing wall extension on two sides, starting at the 292 foot elevation.
