Moorhead, Minn.

Ibberson was the design-build contractor to remove and reinstall two new barley- cleaning systems on this project. Each system consists of a cleaner, two pairs of separators and a grader. This work was completed during a 35-day shutdown of the barley cleaning system at which time all other areas of the elevator and malt house remained in operation.

Specialty Petfood Facility Renovation

This design-build, fast track project involved renovation of a specialty petfood facility. Scope of work included addition of new extruders, dryer/cooler, screening, wet scrubber, vacuum coating, counter flow cooler, dense phase systems, pneumatic systems, liquids/colors, new blend bins, demolition of warehouse dock high floor to grade and new floor, renovate liquids storage, temporary supports, startup and test, and facility operating 24/7.

Ash Grove Chanute Clinker, Blending and Coal Silos

Chanute, Kan.

Ibberson was contracted to provide design and construction of three slipform structures at the Ash Grove Cement Plant in Chanute, Kansas. The project consisted of foundations, slipform walls, hopper bottoms and roofs.

Cheese Drying Facility Addition

Albany, Minn.

This 37,000-square-foot addition doubled the capacity of the existing cheese drying facility. The project included site work, a five-bay loading dock, a storage cooler, process rooms, and mechanical and electrical support facilities. The building is constructed of a precast concrete frame, deck and wall panels, with masonry interior partitions. A 60-foot by 80-foot by 104-foot-high, four-story tower houses and supports the dryer chamber.

Nancy Creek Pump Station

Atlanta, Ga.

The Nancy Creek Pump Station is a wastewater facility built for the City of Atlanta, Georgia. In 2001, the general contractor on the project, Western Summit Constructors, experienced obstacles during the first phase of construction and began to explore strategies for project acceleration. They called on the expertise of Ibberson and inquired whether it was possible to build a 72-foot-diameter by 160-foot-deep underground shaft using slipform concrete construction methods.

Working in a limited space with a five-week outage duration, the team engineered, procured, constructed and per- formed startup of the air quality control system to tie it into Brayton Point’s Unit 3 at New England’s largest fossil fuel-fired power station.

This addition to the existing dietary food warehouse consisted of a three-story building for food processing and packaging (10,000 sq. ft. per floor), a warehouse for palletizing (18,000 sq. ft.), depalletizing and storage of finished dietary food products and packaging materials. The addition also included an office space, locker room and lunch room.
