Grain Storage Facility - Port of Dalian, China
China Dalian Beiliang Company
Ibberson International, Inc. (Ibberson) was awarded the engineering contract for Phase II of one of the world’s largest grain storage complexes at this grain import/export terminal.
The massive storage complex is part of the government of the People’s Republic of China’s $2 billion grain infrastructure program.
The project included 20 of the largest slipformed silos in China with a capacity of 30,000 MT of grain each, for a total capacity of 600,000 MT. The grain storage silos are 32 meters in diameter with an overall height of 59.9 meters. The grain handling system is sized for receiving and reclaiming of 1,000 MT of grain per hour.
Ibberson also provided the needed technology for the mechanical, electrical, and controls bid package including material handling, electrical systems and control systems. Aeration, temperature control and fumigation systems were also included.
Ibberson was chosen for this project because of its history in China and its expertise in the design and construction of slipform concrete structures worldwide.
