Grain Terminal Export Facility - Corpus Christi, Texas
CLIENT
Port of Corpus Christi
Ibberson provided the engineering and complete reconstruction for the rebuilding of this large export terminal following an explosion that devastated the entire facility in 1970.
This 152,450-metric ton plant required not only investigation and examination of the severe damage, but engineering and reconstruction of nearly the entire facility.
Upon completion of the civil works and mechanical and electrical installations, a new automation and control package was added to the plant, which converted it from manual to fully automated.
After the explosion, it was estimated that the plant would be inoperative for 16 to 18 months; however, within 11 months the plant was again in full operation.
