High-Speed Truck Receiving and Storage Facility - Marshall, Minn.
CLIENT
Minnesota Corn Processors, Inc.
Ibberson was awarded the contract to provide on-site engineering, construction management and construction services for the high-speed truck receiving and storage facility.
The grain receiving and storage systems were designed by Ibberson. During the construction phase of these areas, Ibberson performed on-site construction and construction management.
The facility has three truck receiving pits capable of producing 15,000 bushels per hour. Ibberson constructed a new 500,000 bushel storage facility that tied to the existing 420,000 bushel/hour silos and added new conveyors and cleaning equipment.
The four new grain storage silos are 40-inches in diameter and 120 feet tall. The new silos resemble a cloverleaf pattern as they stand side by side. There are also six existing 32-foot-diameter silos, each 110 feet tall that stand in a row. The receiving building was constructed of precast panels.
The new facility is fully automated throughout, using PLC controls by Honeywell and controlled from the processing control room at the other end of the site.
