Ibberson International, Inc. and China Harbor Engineering Company formed a consortium to contract a turnkey inland grain depot for the State Grain Reserve Bureau in Beijing, China.
Ibberson International, Inc. was responsible for the process engineering and the handling of all major process equipment. The facility receives grain from intermediate transfer depots located in local farm areas as well as from ocean import terminals. It provides grain to local flour mills, feed mills and other grain processors. The facility can handle 680,000 MT of grain per year.
The facility features 48 eight meters in diameter x 30 meters tall storage silos with a total storage capacity of 62,000 metric tons.
The facility also includes a seven-rail car unloading station, two 50-MT truck scale stations, a boiler house, a fire station and a 5,000 sq. meter office and training center.
This project is one of a group of projects financed by the World Bank and the PRC government. It is part of the $1 billion Grain Distribution and Marketing Infrastructure Project for upgrading the PRC.
