Ibberson was awarded the contract to provide engineering, construction management and procurement services for major additions of equipment and systems to the existing terminal.
Scope of work included:
The new rail receiving system consisted of a new hopper car unloading pit, enclosure building, two hydraulic car progressors, hydraulic hopper car gate opener and automatic sampling system.
Rework was completed on the existing rail receiving system, barge receiving system, truck receiving and loadout systems, ship loading system and headhouse distribution systems. The upgraded systems will handle 680 to 900 mtph, with a total shipping capacity of 1,825 mtph.
Controls for handling systems, scales and sampling systems have been relocated from the headhouse to the remote control room, providing a centralized operations center, and affording greater safety for the operators and control of equipment.
