AgGrow Oils contracted T.E. Ibberson Company (Ibberson) to provide complete turnkey work for their multiple oilseed facility in Carrington, North Dakota. The facility is unique because it is the first plant designed to process crambe, but the size and capacity (200 tons per day) allow the plant to process multiple products including oil and meal from crambe, sunflower, safflower, canola and rapeseed.
The project involved design and construction of a new flax seed processing facility. The new slipformed process tower is 62 ft. x 86 ft. x 70 ft. high with three new raw flax seed storage bins. The exterior walls of the process tower are insulated within the slipformed walls. A precast warehouse and office area were constructed and are 168 ft. x 256 ft. with precast truck receiving bay 26 ft. x 85 ft.
Teaming creative design with innovative methods was a key factor in Ibberson being awarded the soymeal and hulls storage and loadout system project for South Dakota Soybean Processors in Volga, South Dakota. The design is new in the industry – there are only four installations of this type in the USA and Canada.
