Modular Feed Mill Expansion - Luzon, Philippines
CLIENT
Fil-Am Foods, Inc.
Fil-Am Foods, Inc., a joint venture between Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc., PM Nutrition, Inc. and Tyson Foods, Inc., called on Ibberson to build a state-of-the-art, modular feed mill. The feed mill and integrated swine complex is located on Luzon Island, north of the City of Manila. The venture was formed to create a commercial feed and swine operation in the Philippines.
The plant can be considered a moderate to large production facility with the capacity to produce 20 metric tons of animal feed per hour expandable to 40 metric tons per hour.
The nine months of construction activities began in October 1997. At completion, in June 1998, the new mill became one of the most automated feed mills in the Philippines.
In addition to its focus on commercial feed and swine production, Fil-Am Foods, Inc. plans to use the venture as a springboard to develop fully-integrated poultry operations in the area.
Ibberson’s unique experience in building facilities throughout the world, coupled with the Ibberson modular construction concept, provided the solution to Fil-Am Foods, Inc. to forward the advanced feed manufacturing technology of Purina Mills to the Philippines.
