Ibberson was contracted to provide design and construction of three slipform structures at the Ash Grove Cement Plant in Chanute, Kansas. The project consisted of foundations, slipform walls, hopper bottoms and roofs.
The clinker silo is post-tensioned with a heavy structural steel dome roof that was taken up with the slipform process. The silo is 125-foot in diameter and 187-foot high to the top of the dome.
The blend silo is 54-foot in diameter and 180-foot high with an elevated bin bottom.
The coal silo is 35-foot in diameter and 105-foot high with a full diameter steel hopper that has a stainless steel liner.
