General Portland Cement Company contracted lbberson to design and construct five slipform structures on this project. The project consisted of drilled caissons, foundations, scales, floors, hopper bottoms, catwalks and platforms.
The blending silo was post tensioned, with an elevated floor at 190 feet, and seven individual raw ingredient lines in the upper 27 feet of the 235-foot-high by 59-foot-diameter building.
The 35-foot-diameter by 167-foot-high cement silos have elevated hopper bottoms supported with columns and ring girders over the truck and rail scales. The dimension of the clinker silos are 50 feet in diameter by 145 feet high. All of the contracted work was completed in a 12-month schedule.
