Ibberson was awarded the contract for the design-build services for the repair of three coal silos at the Black Bear Preparation Plant.
The seven-month project consisted of construction of foundations, footers and concrete columns, fabrication of a concrete ring girder, reinforcing the existing steel hoppers and installation of the post-tensioning strands.
During the construction phase of the project, the client experience no down-time, as the silo repairs were made while the client continued to operate the facility and the silo unloading equipment.
