Cooler Warehouse and Cheese Plant Upgrade - Buffalo, N.Y.
CLIENT
Sorrento Cheese Company
This project involved upgrading a major portion of Sorrento’s cheese manufacturing, packaging and ware- house capacity at their South Park Avenue plant in Buffalo.
A new packaging building vacated sufficient space in the existing plant to remodel four processing areas sequentially; i.e., when the packaging area was completed and put on-line, the area it previously occupied was remodeled and new/relocated equipment was installed. Production was maintained throughout the remodeling and equipment installation phase of each building.
Coordination with the client’s engineering and manufacturing team and their equipment suppliers produced multi-disciplined bid packages for each phase of the overall project. We then assumed a supporting role for the client’s construction management and installation team.
A 25,000 sq. ft. dry/cool storage warehouse and shipping dock, with employee office and facilities, was designed and built concurrently using a second design team.
When construction was completed, all phases of the $8 million project took approximately three years to execute.
