This EPC contract project is located just across the river from St. Louis, Missouri, in Sauget, Illinois. Construction began in October, 2006 and mechanical completion was achieved in March, 2008. The plant is currently operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 350 days per year and producing 54 million gallons of ethanol per year with future capacity to expand to 108 million gallons per year.
The primary feed stock for the plant is #2 yellow dent corn. The plant uses approximately 571,200 tons per year or 20,400,000 bushels per year, received via truck and rail. The ethanol produced is shipped by truck, rail or barge loadout systems. In addition to ethanol production, this facility incorporates a ring dryer to dry a mixture of centrifuge wet cake and evaporator syrup. Estimated DDGS (distillers dried grains with solubles) production is 185,700 tons per year.
