Preheat Tower and Raw Meal Silo - Pueblo, Colo.
GCC Rio Grande, Inc.
T. E. Ibberson Company (TEI) was awarded the contract to construct slipformed structures for GCC Rio Grande, Inc.s, new 2,900 STPD grassroots cement plant.
The preheat tower is a 74’ x 65’ x 297’ tall structure with a portion dropping off at 157 feet. This tower, which was slipped in 15 days, is the first preheat tower with a section of the structure ceasing at mid-height without stopping the slipforming process.
The blend silo is a 48’ diameter x 221’ tall single silo with a 10’’ wall setback. The structure has three massive interior concrete columns that were constructed simultaneously with the walls used to support the four-foot-thick concrete slab.
