Plant Remodeling and Addition - Medford, Wis.
CLIENT
Tombstone Pizza
The project entailed remodeling several portions of the facility and adding a lounge and offices. Remodeling services were performed in the blast freezing, frozen storage warehouse and shipping areas.
Production goals expected to result from the project were to triple frozen pizza storage capacity and increase pizza shipping capability. Designs used to accomplish the goals included a system where pizzas were first frozen in a small freezer that utilized high turbulence to quick-freeze the products. They then were automatically boxed, palletized, and conveyed to the high bay freezer.
On the storage end, an Interlake pallet storage system with stacker cranes was installed.
Portions of the Tombstone shipping area were enclosed for facilitating the loading of local delivery shuttles and over-the-road semitrailers.
The 24,000-square-foot facility was remodeled and constructed while the plant was in full operation.
Projects completed in other Tombstone locations include a beef snack food freezer, a meat plant, a pizza assembly facility and a truck/vehicle repair garage, all located in Medford, Wisconsin.
